How does your Internet service work?
Mountain iNet provides an Internet connection via fixed wireless antenna system. A CPE (customer premise equipment) is installed on your building.  This equipment is a radio receiver/transmitter that transfer data from a ground based tower location, which requires a clear line‐of‐sight (no trees, buildings, or hills blocking the path). When you send and receive information over the Internet, it goes over the fixed wireless link from your radio/antenna to our Tower and Backhaul Network to our Fiber Optic connection that is directly connected to the Internet.  Our service has very low “latency” (or delay) compared to satellite Internet, where signals must travel thousands of miles into space. Mountain iNet is well suited for digital phone (VoIP/Voice over Internet Protocol) and other uses such as VPN’s or gaming.

Installation process?
Mountain iNet professionally mounts an antenna on your structure then runs CAT5 cable to a penetration point that will be near your router location inside.

Do I need a router?
Yes.  A broadband wireless router is required for your devices to access the Internet.  Most routers will allow up to four computers to be plugged directly into it and multiple wireless devices (laptops, cell phones, consoles etc.).

Does weather affect the service?
Unlike satellite… fixed wireless is unaffected by weather as it is going several miles vs. 1,000’s of miles.

How long will it take to set up service?
Once we’ve determined that the service will work at your location, it takes around 2 hours to complete the installation.

What about e‐mail accounts?
In order to create an account…you will need an email account and there are several free email services available (Yahoo!, MSN, Hotmail, G‐mail, etc.).
